Gathern, the Saudi startup that thrives to emerge a leading online booking platform for Chalets in the Middle East, has just scored a bit boost for its growth objectives. The company announced earlier last week that it received a sizeable funding from a collective of local and international investors.

While the financial specifics were not disclosed, Gathern acknowledged the contributions from Vision Ventures, 500 Startups, Deyarat Trading Company, Aquilaria Capital Management, and Inspire Ventures. Individual investors such as Flyin co-founder Abdulla Al Romaih, and Nayef Al-Athel, among others, also chipped in to make Gathern’s latest seed round a big stride forward.

Gathern, a brainchild of co-founders Latifa Altamimi and Faisal Alanazi, has been in the business since 2016 and claims to have processed more than 30,000 nights of online chalet and camp booking through eight cities across Saudi Arabia.

With a user-friendly interface and modus operandi, Gathern lets users browse all available chalets on the platform and filter them based on individual preferences such as location, cost, ratings, number of bedrooms etc.

Users can also leave their reviews and detailed feedback, which is of tremendous help for the user-community to have a more in-depth insight into the quality of different options at their disposal. The platform supports six different payment methods in total, including bank transfer, credit cards, or Mada card.

On interesting aspect about Gathern is that it’s Saudi Arabia’s first startup with a female co-founder to raise venture capital.
