Golden Scent, the Saudi-based perfume and cosmetics platform, has just crossed an important milestone in its journey to establish itself as a global e-commerce brand. The company announced that it is now operational in the UAE and Kuwait with a bigger and better product portfolio.

That’s not all; Golden Scent has also reported 1 million downloads of its mobile app, which is a big stride forward considering the company is looking to expand its user base by three-fold compared to the year before by the end of 2018.

Co-Founder and Managing Director,  Malik Shehab has attributed a part of the popularity of the Golden Scent mobile app to the changing online shopping behavior of Saudi Consumers. He noted that there has been “a major shift from web to app usage in e-commerce over the past years.”

The encouraging growth the company has experienced throughout 2018 seems to have made Golden Scent even more hungry for success. It now plans on adding new features to its mobile app to enhance user experience. In addition, Golden Scent has also promised to add more local brands to its online store, which could lead to a steady surge in sales figure.

Shehab also briefly touched upon the company’s strategy by saying: “Our first step was to streamline the purchase experience. We’re now investing in scaling up both our presence and our product lines, so consumers have incredible choice mated to convenience. We’re not just giving our clients access to the widest possible range of beauty products but are also going the extra mile to tie up with trending brands that are available exclusively through us.”

As a part of its growth strategy, Golden Scent has added new categories such as hair care and beauty tools to its store as the product offerings in the skincare and make sections grew 40 percent.
