The Bahrain Tech Awards 2018 award ceremony was held at the Bahrain National Pavilion on the sidelines of the ongoing GITEX conference. The event saw mass participation by eminent personalities from all walks of life, including those representing the startup ecosystem, global investors-community, the ICT sector, corporate giants, and government offices. The winners of the Awards were commended by none other than the CEO of Tamkeen (labor fund), H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi.

Dr. Janahi took the opportunity to emphasize on the importance of events like Bahrain Tech Award for encouraging Bahrain tech startups to develop unique and innovative solutions, products, and services that propel them into the same leagues as the world’s leading tech and innovation companies. Additionally, it also provides them invaluable insights into the international best practices and the impact of carefully calibrated marketing strategies, Dr. Janahi added.

The Tamkeen CEO also outlined how the event motivates up-and-coming businesses to dedicate a part of their resources and know-how to cater to the commercial and social needs of the homegrown technology market. Meanwhile, Esam Hadi, Chairman of the Bahrain Technology Award, commented on the success of the event by saying: “The award for the second edition proves its success in achieving its objectives. The award has highlighted many of Bahrain’s products and services in the field of information technology and highlighted Bahrain’s progress in this field.”

The five IT companies to have won the Bahrain Tech Award 2018 include CTM360FAMESyskode, Microcenter, and AlAmthal. Additionally, the event also saw five Bahraini companies including NakheelNabdaa, EqualibriaTimecTechnologies, and Snapcomms being honored for their innovations and healthy growth.
