VoucherSkout, a FinTech startup from the U.A.E. has inked a landmark deal with South Korean technology giant Samsung. Per the agreement, the Galaxy-maker will deploy VoucherSkout’s homegrown technology and merchant network in Samsung Pay to offer a more exciting and efficient voucher saving service across the country.

Samsung Pay is the South Korean company’s native mobile payment and wallet service that enables users to make payments using compatible Samsung smartphones, tablets, and other devices.

VoucherSkout is touting this new partnership with Samsung as “groundbreaking,” which is true in a way considering that it will let Samsung Pay users in the U.A.E. enjoy up to 50% discounts at some popular leisure, wellness, and dining ventures. All they have to do is tap on the newly added “Vouchers” icon within their updated Samsung Pay app. Both companies have agreed to brand this new offering as “Samsung Pay Vouchers.”

“We are incredibly excited to bring Samsung Pay vouchers to the UAE as a value-added incentive for Samsung Pay users, who enjoy an easy, secure and private way to pay in stores, apps and on the web,” said Mohammed Gharaibeh, Head of Enterprise, Mobile Business at Samsung Gulf Electronics.

He added: We have seen great momentum and witnessed significant consumer adoption with Samsung Pay and our objective with our new discount vouchers is to encourage accelerated growth towards a cashless society, in line with the UAE government’s sustainable goals to digitize transactions and save the environment.”

What makes Voucher Skout different from the plethora of another discount/coupon platforms is that the company doesn’t demand any expensive upfront annual subscription fee. Neither does it charge merchants for joining the network. Its flexible business model allows customers to leverage a flexible “pay-as-you-go” model, meaning they are required paying for only those vouchers that they intend to use.
