The first edition of StartUp Bahrain Week wrapped up on a high note on Thursday with the closing ceremony of unbound Bahrain, the innovation and startup festival.

As expected, unbound attracted a huge turnout of more than 1,500 people who came to witness what emerging businesses in the region entail to fuel innovation and a technology-driven economic growth.

57 startups from across the region took part in unbound Bahrain, an event that promises a platform for emerging entrepreneurs in the region to reach out to a wider network of investors and key industry stakeholders in the presence of entrepreneurs and experts from all across the Middle East and North Africa (and beyond). unbound 2018 saw promising startups based out of Bahrain and the region pitching their ideas to investors.

Startup Bahrain Week is a one-of-a-kind initiative by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and Tamkeen (labor fund) to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of the Kingdom’s aspiring business leaders. The week-long series of events were held under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Bahrain Economic Development Board.

Startup Bahrain Week 2018 kicked off on March 3 with the GCC Game Conference hosted at the Bahrain Polytechnic, which was followed by “Majlis” by Rowad on Sunday (Alto, Downtown Rotana); My Startup Bootcamp by CH9 and YoStartup on Sunday and Monday; Startup Evenings with Ben Butler from AWS by Startup MGZN; Follow the Leaders by Thinkers & Doers on Tuesday (Heritage houses of Muharraq); and unbound 2018 on Wednesday and Thursday.
