Badir Program for Technology Incubators, on behalf of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), has announced that the application process for the forthcoming training boot camp in Riyadh and Al Qassim will commence in mid-April.

The boot camp will be geared towards enabling startups in the region to accelerate their growth while simultaneously developing a culture of entrepreneurship among the young population. Also, it will help participating tech startups to attract investments on the merit of their ideas and innovation.

Spanning five days in each region, the training boot camp will offer insightful lectures by experienced industry leaders and mentors, training sessions, entrepreneurial workshops, and special sessions dedicated to the creation of new tech firms. The training will also include other important aspects of expanding a business including how to pitch ideas and business plans to investors.

To be eligible for participating in the boot camp, applicants must share their ideas of at least one advanced project that could potentially contribute to the solution of one or more concerning social issues. Also, the idea(s) shared by the applicants must be unique, innovative, sustainable, and scalable.

Nawaf Al Sahhaf, Chief Executive at Badir Program for Technology Incubators and Accelerators, stated that throughout its existence, Badir has been conducting training boot camps aimed at helping out promising Saudi entrepreneurs to establish new and innovative tech firms by providing them with the requisite resources and know-how.

Launched in 2007, the Badir program primarily targets four technology sectors including Biotechnology, Advanced Manufacturing and Materials, Information & Communications Technology, and Energy & Nanotechnology.
