Bahraini food startups top StartUp Bahrain Pitch 20

Oct 23, 2025

StartUp Bahrain hosted the 20th edition of its pitch series, supported by Tamkeen and held in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and the Bahrain Development Bank. After a full round of presentations and Q&A, Dona’s Wonders took first place while You’re Nuts placed second, reflecting strong interest in consumer health and food products among Bahrain’s emerging founders.

The finalist pool covered diverse segments. Esbitar pitched a mobile healthcare model that brings clinicians to homes. Herbal Mama presented plant-based haircare. You’re Nuts focused on nut butters without additives. Dona’s Wonders showcased gluten-free and keto-friendly baked goods, pointing to the steady rise of specialty food businesses serving wellness-minded customers in the Kingdom.

The reactions from the winners were upbeat. “We are honored to have won first place in this edition of Startup Bahrain Pitch, a leading entrepreneurial platform that fosters creativity and supports promising ventures. This victory marks a pivotal milestone in our startup’s journey, as it will positively impact our aspirations and help us achieve our future goals for continued growth and excellence,” said Dona Maria of Dona’s Wonders. For runner-up You’re Nuts, Ali Albasri said, “We extend our sincere gratitude to all the organizing and supporting entities that contributed to the success of this initiative. Participating in StartUp Bahrain Pitch was an inspiring experience that gave us the opportunity to connect with a distinguished group of entrepreneurs, mentors and industry experts. This has opened new horizons for the growth and development of our startup.”

This edition lands in a month that has been busy for Bahrain’s fintech and venture circles. Ripple announced a new partnership with Bahrain FinTech Bay, aiming to run pilots and talent programs in the Kingdom this quarter. Regional outlets also highlighted the move, noting Ripple’s deeper Gulf presence and potential collaboration pathways with local institutions. For founders, the signal is encouraging. Investor attention, regulatory clarity, and ecosystem partners are converging at the same time.

What should founders do next? If you are building in food, health, or fintech, prepare a concise concept note with measurable outcomes and reach out to ecosystem partners through Tamkeen or sector programs at the Bahrain EDB. Keep an eye on upcoming pitch rounds, then use community channels to connect with mentors and peers.
