Udacity enters agreement with Google to launch a digital skill building program for MENA freelancers

Nov 6, 2018

Udacity, in collaboration with Google, has launched a new program for aspiring digital freelancers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Dubbed the Digital Freelancer Nanodegree, the program incorporates elements from Google’s digital skill-building program for Arabic speaker, Maharat Min Google.

The program is one month in duration and is offered in Arabic. It aims to build and nurture a local talent pool that can serve as competent digital freelancers across different professional domains -- be it digital marketing, web and app development, data science, or other niches and verticals. The program helps participants to develop a marketable field of expertise before teaching them how to score freelance projects.

Apart from Google, Udacity also has tie-ups with many project partners including PeoplePerHour,  British freelance marketplace; Wuzzuf, an Egyptian job portal’ translation and editorial freelance platform Ureed; and Maharati, a microlancer marketplace, among others.
