Doctori, an online platform that connects patients with doctors via video calls for non-urgent medical advice, has become Bahrain’s first and only licensed telemedicine platform by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).
The NHRA is an independent regulatory body with a mission to regulate the provision of healthcare in Bahrain and ensure suitability, efficiency, and, most of all, safety in healthcare services.
Doctori is a Bahraini startup that aims to create an artificially intelligent interface that is accessible to patients all over Bahrain and the MENA region to enable patients to connect to a doctor and get your needed medical advice wherever and whenever. And if you’re worried that using Doctori will dig into your pockets than think again, the platform only charges you BHD 5 to use the service, which makes it is reasonably priced, private, and very secure.
Doctori initially aims to start with mental health professionals to combat the stigma of seeking mental health advice and then expand to other specialties in the next three months.
What’s more, is that Doctori has also raised a pre-seed investment of $70,000 from private investors! They plan on using the funds for phase two of the platform set to launch in July of next year that will target institutions such as schools, offices, government agencies, and even elderly homes. Institutions that are secluded from a medical professional.
It should also be noted that Doctori has raised an investment of $32,000 from Flat6Labs Bahrain and has been accepted into their fourth cycle.
Doctori is now working on getting approval for a Saudi telemedicine license from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health.
We spoke to Co-Founders Ahmed Alawadhi and Ahmed Mahmood who told us: “I truly believe that there are a lot of business opportunities in Bahrain and the GCC in general. In terms of the Health Tech market, the market is beyond huge. The gaps in the Health Tech market is still there and inshallah Doctori will fill this gap”
The Ahmeds have also reached the semi-final round of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship, read more to see who else made the cut.
