Press Release.
Tenmou, the Bahrain-based Angel Investment Company, has announced the opening of registration for the 8th edition of its annual MENA Angel Investors Summit 2023. The summit serves as a platform to foster investment collaboration and growth opportunities in tech startups from Bahrain and the broader MENA region, by bringing together investors and tech startup owners under one roof.
The summit is being held in strategic partnership with Tamkeen (Bahrain Labour Fund) as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) activities. It is scheduled to take place on November 14, 2023, at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) in Bahrain Bay.
Anyone from the MENA region, including investors, startups, experts, and those interested in attending, can register for the summit on Tenmou’s website until October 25, 2023.
The Summit will feature 20 selected tech startups who will pitch live during the event. These startups will be chosen by the Summit’s organizing committee based on the pitching criteria. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to network and stay updated with the latest developments in the region’s tech startup ecosystem, exploring potential growth opportunities and collaborations for their businesses.
Tenmou’s Chairman, Mr. Suhail Ghazi Al Gosaibi, welcomed the continuous expansion of the MENA Angel Investors Summit for the eighth year in a row.
“The summit is held in partnership with Tamkeen, a national organization that plays a strategic role in supporting the growth of the startup ecosystem, and we are happy that this summit is unique that it brings together early-stage tech startups from the MENA region with regional investors, creating a collaborative networking space that caters to the specific needs of startups looking to grow their businesses,” Mr. Algosaibi explained.
Mr. Al Gosaibi pointed out that startups in the tech industry are considered to be one of the most successful investment opportunities today. He cited Tenmou’s record-breaking success in achieving five successful exits from Bahraini tech startups, with an average multiple return of over 6 times. This is an impressive rate of return in a short period of time.
More than 20 local and regional Tech startups are expected to pitch their businesses for an audience of key investors and family businesses interested in investing, and gain exposure to a wider audience.
Tenmou’s CEO, Mr. Nawaf Al Koheji, emphasized the significant value of the annual summit in providing startups with excellent opportunities to establish relationships with potential partners and customers. He also highlighted how the summit helps startups gain exposure to a broader audience. Through networking with a diverse group of individuals, startups can effectively raise awareness about their company, products, or services.
Mr. Al Koheji invited all interested investors, startups, organizations, and individuals to register for free to take part in the event before October 25, 2023. The MENA Summit will also host fireside chats with keynote sessions, powered by Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP).
This Summit is organized in collaboration with a number of ecosystem players including: Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA), Export Bahrain, Springs Studio, PLUS.VC, Bahrain Fintech Bay, Brinc and Oqal.
Registration for the summit is through Tenmou’s website.
