Bahrain’s Havelock One upgrades manufacturing tech with Tamkeen support

Nov 3, 2025

Tamkeen has announced support for Bahrain based fit out and manufacturing firm Havelock One to adopt advanced Industry 4.0 technologies, including robotics, Internet of Things solutions, and advanced software systems. The initiative also focuses on automation and artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiency and productivity, according to a public report published in November 2025 by The Daily Tribune via News of Bahrain.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of Gateway Gulf 2025, held in Bahrain from 2 to 3 November 2025. In the same report, Havelock One is described as an employer of 80 Bahrainis across roles and specialisations.

On this occasion, Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, said: “We believe that integrating Industry 4.0 technologies is no longer optional but a strategic necessity to ensure the sustainability and growth of local enterprises.” She also linked the support to creating specialised and high value job opportunities for Bahraini talent. The full quotation is published in the News of Bahrain coverage.

From Havelock One’s side, Mr. Firas Al Ayed, Group Operations Director, credited Tamkeen’s continued support since 2018 with helping the company expand and enter new markets. He added that the new support for Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies will improve productivity and operational efficiency, while supporting quality employment opportunities for Bahrainis, as quoted in the same published report.

The scale is real. Havelock One operates a 520,000 sq. ft. custom manufacturing facility in Askar, Bahrain. That matters because when a facility of this size upgrades equipment and systems, it tends to pull local suppliers with it, from maintenance and training to industrial software and cybersecurity.

This story also fits a wider Bahrain manufacturing push. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s iFactories initiativeis designed to measure factory readiness and digital maturity, and support investment into manufacturing automation. More recently, the ministry launched the third edition of the Digital Business Champions Overseas Program for Companies and Factories on 8 December 2025, noting that earlier editions attracted over 170 participants from more than 96 entities. On 11 December 2025, it also announced the inauguration of the BRET factory in Bahrain International Investment Park, signalling continued industrial expansion.

If you are building tools or services for factories, map your offer to iFactories readiness gaps, then approach manufacturers who are planning upgrades and export growth now.
