Tamkeen programs power 87 new jobs and upskilling at Al Sater
Sep 16, 2025

Al Sater Markets has employed and trained 87 Bahraini team members through support from the Labour Fund Tamkeen, advancing its plan to grow a skilled local workforce across the Kingdom. The company confirmed the update in a media note on September 22, 2025, which appears on Tamkeen’s press release and was carried by the Bahrain News Agency, with local coverage from Daily Tribune and BizBahrain. The effort aligns with Tamkeen’s 2025 priorities to elevate Bahraini competitiveness and enable private-sector growth.
The hiring push leaned on two active tracks. Al Sater participated in Tamkeen’s National Employment Program, which supports private enterprises to onboard nationals with wage support for up to five years, and the Wage Increment Program, which backs salary upgrades tied to career progression. Both program pages reflect current terms and application guidance for employers, with an additional option under Wage Increment for New Employees.
Tamkeen’s recent governance update points in the same direction. On September 14, 2025, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman chaired the Q3 Board meeting and directed work on the 2026–2030 strategy to strengthen the private sector’s role in growth, as reported by the Bahrain News Agency. Ongoing employer outcomes through September are tracked on Tamkeen’s press archive.
Al Sater said Tamkeen’s support helped it keep pace with expansion while improving service quality. The company highlighted the National Employment Program and the Wage Increment Program as the backbone for bringing more citizens into customer-facing and supervisory roles, then advancing them with training. For context, wholesale and retail trade contributed about 4.0% of real GDP in Q3 2024, according to the Ministry of Finance and National Economy’s Bahrain Economic Quarterly.
The update follows a visible run of employer case studies that spotlight skills and wage progression across Bahrain. Bahrain Car Parks Company Amakin reported career development support for 68% of its national talent through Tamkeen programs on September 21, as listed in Tamkeen’s press archive.
For founders and HR leads, the signal is practical. Map current vacancies to the National Employment Program, plan promotion pathways that fit the Wage Increment Program, and document outcomes to qualify for future support. Start with Tamkeen’s updated program pages, then align training calendars to peak retail periods so teams apply new skills on the floor.
