Zain Bahrain kicks off ZGI boot camp in Manama

Sep 5, 2025

Zain Great Idea lands in Bahrain for the first time. Zain Bahrain has launched the Bahraini edition of its flagship startup accelerator with an opening Boot Camp at Zain Bahrain Tower from September 24 to October 9, 2025, as reported by Daily Tribune – News of Bahrain and confirmed by TradeArabia.

The Boot Camp is built for execution. Participants join expert-led workshops, mentorship sessions with founders and industry leaders, and technical training aimed at sharper business models and investor readiness, with one finalist set for a two-week immersion in Silicon Valley, according to Daily Tribune and TradeArabia.

“Today marks a significant milestone for Zain Bahrain as we officially launch Zain Great Idea in the Kingdom for the first time, successfully commencing the program’s first phase. The Boot Camp is the foundation of Zain Great Idea, and we are proud to see talented Bahraini entrepreneurs embark on this transformative journey,” said Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Chief Communications & Investor Relations Officer at Zain Bahrain, in remarks carried by TradeArabia and repeated by Daily Tribune.

The regional backdrop matters. Zain Group expanded ZGI 2025 beyond Kuwait to include Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, a move detailed in the Group’s August 25 release on zain.com and the program hub at zaingreatidea.com.

For Bahraini founders, the upside is practical: access to seasoned mentors and structured feedback without leaving Manama, plus a pathway to global exposure through the Silicon Valley immersion. To convert Boot Camp momentum into pilots and customers at home, pair ZGI learning with national support on Tamkeen’s programs hub and sector setup guidance from the Bahrain Economic Development Board.

Next step: review eligibility and Boot Camp updates on zaingreatidea.com, prepare a crisp problem statement and customer proof, and line up follow-on support via Tamkeen programs and the EDB setup desk.
