AstroLabs, a Dubai-based tech startup ‘Google for Entrepreneurs‘ company, co-working space, and a member of the ‘GFE Tech Hub Network’, has recently announced two strategic initiatives: Google Digital Upskill & Startup Acceleration Scholarship Programs, and the Tech Startup Grants.
The aim of both initiatives is to accelerate MENA’s digital ecosystem, as AstroLabs is awarding 100 digital upskill scholarships, 15 startup acceleration scholarships, as well as offering AED 240,000 in grants specifically for tech startups.
The Digital Upskill Scholarship provides startups with the chance of taking part in one of AstroLabs’ ‘Open Academy’ courses in Digital Marketing, eCommerce or Coding at a lower cost. It’s noteworthy that candidates are selected based on their plans of utilizing their newly learned skills and knowledge, to either support an individual, a team, or society as a whole.
AstroLabs will grant such scholarships to 100 deserving candidates. As of today, more than 10 inspiring candidates have been awarded with their Google Digital Upskill Scholarships.
While the ‘Startup Acceleration Scholarship‘ will be granted to 15 fresh startups with proven scaling potential, not to mention having a mission to create a positive impact in the world. Under this specific program, each winning startup will get credit for team members, up to 4 members, to attend one or more of AstroLabs’ training programs. furthermore, each startup will get the chance to get mentorship on specific topics. As for the ‘Tech Startup Grants‘, AstroLabs is calling out the top tech talent of the region, who might have lost their jobs due to the current pandemic to take this as an opportunity to launch their own startups. Moreover, AstroLabs is offering AED 240K in grants to support these founders in launching their new ventures quickly and easily, at a lower rate, at the most vibrant tech hubs in Dubai and Riyadh.
Offerings also include direct mentorship from its founders Louis Lebbos and Muhammed Mekki, its COO Roland Daher as well as its wonderful network of mentors and industry experts.
AstroLabs has shared that Louis Lebbos, a Founding Partner of AstroLabs, is personally committing to being the first investor in at least one of the startups that gets traction by Q4 and likely a couple of others in 2021. Louis is also calling on other investors in the ecosystem to join in and support this group that will build the next wave of tech startups in the MENA region.
