After a prolonged wait, IoT hardware companies in the Middle East now finally have a dedicated accelerator program to turn to thanks to a collaboration between Brinc and Batelco.
Dubbed Brinc Batelco IoT Hub, the launch of the region’s first IoT hardware startup accelerator took place on the third floor of Batelco Commercial Center in the presence of the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, H.E. Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed. Other VIPs who participated in the iconic event included the board members and senior executives from Batelco, the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), and Tamkeen as well as representatives from the local and international media.
Batelco first announced the plan for a dedicated IoT startup accelerator last year after entering an agreement with Brinc MENA, which prides itself as a global hands-on IoT hardware accelerator.
The Brinc-Batelco IoT Hub will offer a diverse range of programs and services aimed at helping out IoT hardware entrepreneurs and startups by providing them with the requisite know-how and resources to start a successful and sustainable business model. The state-of-the-art accelerator program promises unrestricted access to quality mentorship; guidance on product design and development; successful manufacturing strategies; exposure to the regional and global investor-community, and more.
“Encouraging innovation within the ICT sector is one of the most important factors contributing to the continued growth of the Kingdom’s economy. We are very pleased to present Brinc Batelco IoT Hub which will help entrepreneurs achieve their goals in developing and launching innovative products and services,” Batelco Chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said at the launch event.
