Bahrain has unveiled MyGov, a comprehensive digital platform designed to enhance access to public services and drive digital transformation. The app was launched by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology.

MyGov is one of three major initiatives led by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) to strengthen Bahrain’s digital infrastructure. The app offers citizens and residents seamless access to essential government services, including:

  • Passport services: Issuance and renewal requests
  • Residency applications and travel permits
  • Traffic services: Driving license renewal, traffic fine payments, and vehicle registration renewal
  • ID card and birth certificate management: Issuing, renewing, replacing ID cards, and tracking applications
  • Bahrain Post services: P.O. box renewal and parcel tracking via the upgraded eKey 2.0 system

In its initial phase, MyGov also provides public security features, allowing users to:

  • File police reports
  • Report cases to the Anti-Corruption and Cyber Security Directorate
  • Verify Good Conduct Certificates issued by the Criminal Information Directorate
  • Report online child abuse cases

The eKey 2.0 system, developed in collaboration with Beyon Connect, integrates biometric authentication for secure access to services. Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecom provider, has also adopted this system.

Furthermore, Bahrain has introduced Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology into its national ID cards, transforming them into seamless travel documents for citizens.

The MyGov app is available for download via the eGovernment Apps Store (bahrain.bh/apps), offering a secure, convenient, and user-friendly way to access government services anytime, anywhere.
