In a major push for blockchain adoption in the UAE and the broader region, the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR UAE) has announced that it will soon roll out an accelerator program dedicated to the still nascent, but thriving technology.
The new program will be hosted by the Dubai Future Foundation and it will try bringing private and public sector institutions under one roof to discuss the various facets of blockchain technology. The end goal is to comprehensively demonstrate how blockchain could play an instrumental role in helping organizations resolve many of the current economic and social challenges in addition to disrupting different industries.
Participating entities will include influential institutions from across the world, such as the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The program will also see the initial testing of a new toolkit jointly developed by the C4IR UAE, the WEF, and other relevant stakeholders. The objective of this toolkit is to create a framework whereby the deployment of blockchain technology in private and public sector organizations becomes simpler and more efficient.
The new initiative is being hailed by a big leap towards fulfilling the UAE’s Blockchain Strategy 2021, an ambitious roadmap launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to turn Dubai into a global hub for innovation and digitalization.
Worth noting here is that in addition to its blockchain initiative, C4IR UAE is also focused on developing breakthrough frameworks in the emerging fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and precision medicine.
