Press Release

Talabat and Carrefour have joined forces to allow customers to do their grocery shopping on the food delivery app. With Talabat being one of the most frequently-used apps in the region, this innovation drives further convenience for users in Bahrain, making everyday life easier. Talabat’s partnership with Carrefour is also the first time a food delivery platform in the region has offered a complete grocery delivery option.

The new Talabat Grocery service is available as part of Talabat’s existing app, under a new filter card named ‘Grocery’. Since the launch of Carrefour on Talabat, the platform has seen a growth in demand from customers in Bahrain for items including water, packaged snacks, dairy products, eggs, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.

Talabat Grocery users will benefit from the platform’s advanced network of delivery logistics, receiving their order of convenience groceries via Talabat Go riders to their doorstep.

Commenting on the launch of Talabat Grocery, Hesham AlSaati, Talabat’s Managing Director in Bahrain, said: “Bahrainis are a tech-savvy population looking for innovative solutions that save them time. Our partnership with Carrefour is driven by our desire to help people focus on what matters to them. With our technological and logistics capabilities and Carrefour’s product offering, we are able to fulfil our users’ daily needs and deliver groceries quickly and easily.”

“At Carrefour, we strive to deliver seamless shopping experiences, no matter how our customers choose to shop with us,” said Jerome Akel, Country Manager of Carrefour in Bahrain at Majid Al Futtaim Retail. “Talabat is a leader in food delivery, a space that we are working with them in other markets and therefore are pleased to be strengthening our relationship by extending the grocery service to include Bahrain. With more purchases being made online than ever before, together we are adapting to this trend by giving customers easy access to a wide variety of high-quality products. We look forward to serving customers nationwide and taking our brand promise of creating great moments for everyone, every day to their doorstep,” he concluded.

User experience lies at the heart of Talabat Grocery, and customers purchasing their shopping through the app will receive the same variety, quality and product freshness they have come to expect from Carrefour’s brick-and-mortar stores.

With hundreds of Carrefour products listed on Talabat, customers in Bahrain have a wide range of categories available to them. Categories include fruit and vegetables, bakery items, fresh meat, dairy and organic goods, alongside baby items, household wares and personal care items.

Talabat has also launched dedicated technological functionality to support grocery ordering. This ensures a smooth and convenient ordering process for customers. Talabat has also invested in new logistical infrastructure to ensure that the groceries can be delivered quickly and easily.

The Talabat Grocery service is now available on the Talabat app and website.
