Manama, Nov. 19 (BNA): Feryal Abdullah Nass, Chairperson and Founder of the Bahrain Entrepreneurship Organisation (BEO), highlighted the significance of the World Business Angels Investment Fourm WBAF 2024, supported by the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, was present at the forum.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Nass noted that the forum is being held for the first time in Bahrain and the Arab world, in collaboration between the BEO and the WBAF office.
She stated that the event aims to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, startups, and investment leaders worldwide to explore opportunities for startup investment. It also provides a platform for local startups to engage with international counterparts, fostering collaborations and partnerships while securing funding from investors to develop their projects.
Nass added that the forum has attracted over 400 participants from 42 countries, with 60 startups set to present their projects on the global platform tomorrow to attract investments.
She emphasised the forum’s role in drawing investments to Bahrain and developing startup innovations in technology, artificial intelligence, and environmental solutions. These align with Bahrain’s economic vision and the goals of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to position Bahrain as a regional hub for startups and investors. She affirmed that this approach would strengthen Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and support the government’s strategy to make it one of the strongest in the region.
