As pretty much all of humanity goes into lockdown to save itself from the COVID-19 pandemic, Egypt’s startup ecosystem is doing its bit to make things better on the home front.

An increasing number of startups have stepped up with various initiatives to help out citizens across the spectrum in every aspect of their lives. The goal is to help them move forward during these challenging times and better equip them to navigate the uncertainties of the future.

For example, Forasna has added a new feature on its job-hunt portal to help people explore work-from-home opportunities. Additionally, the company has also joined forces with Almentor.net to enable users acquire new skills through online courses. Not only that, but it is also making available all these courses at a 100% discounted price.

HealthTech startup ElCoach is offering a 30-day premium body transformation program for absolutely free. The program includes nutrition classes, workout classes, as well as consultation with fitness and nutrition experts.

Online furniture shopping platform Homzmart, meanwhile, is offering “work-from-home” furniture at a discounted rate. Similarly, Turbo One, the first digital marketplace for automotive services, is offering cleaning and sanitization services for cars right at customers’ homes.
Flat6Labs-backed incubator StartEgypt, on the other hand, is organizing a hackathon for providing a platform to innovators keen on developing new technologies in the areas of safe public transport, safe banknotes, myth-busting day-laborers, and so on.
