The week-long of fun and productivity of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2019 (GEW) is now over. Tamkeen conducted the fourth edition of the event in grand fashion as usual between Nov 17 and Nov 24.

Overall, more than 45 activities were included in GEW 2019 with an estimated 5,000+ individuals participating. Additionally, more than 45 local and regional speakers representing various fields and expertise were part of the events. Among them were some of the most eminent economists, entrepreneurs, and influencers in MENA and beyond.

This year, GEW was held under four main themes including GEW Education, GEW Inclusion, GEW Policy, and GEW Ecosystems.

One of the key highlights of the week-long activities was the MENA Angels Investors Summit 2019, which is an annual summit organized by the Kingdom’s first Business Angels Company, Tenmou. As usual, the summit focused on providing local and regional startups with a trusted platform to connect and network with investors from the broader region, and we’re already seeing success stories emerge. VetWork, one of the startups that pitched secured funding from one of the angel investors they connected with at the summit.

Cloud-based productivity apps maker Zoho also hosted the first edition of Zoholics in Bahrain, an event aimed at helping enterprises and business users to learn about and make the best out of the company’s various products and services.

And of course, one of the main events, FinTech Startup Weekend competition made sure that the turn out at the event remained at its peak during the weekend.

The GEW events in the Kingdom are held by a collaboration with Tamkeen and Global Entrepreneurship Network Bahrain (GEN Bahrain).
