Medigo, a German medical tourism startup has expanded its activities to the UAE. Supported by the local Department of Economic Development (RAK DED), the Berlin-based young company has opened its first MENA office in Ras Al Khaimah.
Medigo specializes in providing top-notch healthcare worldwide. Its user-friendly digital platform allows patients to find a second opinion from a doctor and arrange high-quality medical treatment abroad at a reasonable cost. Medigo collaborates with more than 800 hospitals and clinics in 35 countries worldwide. It also offers online access to thousands of medical professionals. Furthermore, for the ease of its customers, the company also provides a dedicated support team, available 24/7.
Dr. Mohamed Sami, Medigo’s Regional Manager for the MENA region has said that they chose Ras Al Khaimah to host their first office in the area as it was a popular touristic hub with ambitions to expand into medical tourism as well. RAK DED and RAK Incubator and Accelerator will work closely with their new German partners to build a robust startup ecosystem in Ras Al Khaimah, said Dr. Abdulrahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Director General of RAK DED.
In the past few years, RAK DED has been working actively to attract foreign capital in the region. An already established tourism spot, Ras Al Khaimah is now focused on its future as a preferred place for medical tourism.
