Beban, the region’s groundbreaking entrepreneurial-themed reality show, raised a substantial sum of $880,000 for three startups hailing from Oman and Bahrain during the latest installment of the third season.
Omani innovator Othman Al Mandhari’s Innotech led the round, securing an impressive investment of $500,000, while Serag AlOfuq, represented by Adi Al Farei, seized a significant cash influx of $330,000. Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Travilege Solutions, founded by Salman Almarzooq, secured a commendable investment of $50,000 from the diverse panel of investors featured on the show.
Produced by Hope Ventures, the investment arm of Hope Fund, Beban stands as the region’s first private-public investment platform. Hope Fund Chairman, Aymen Almoayed, expressed his enthusiasm for the success of the show, stating, “Beban was launched with the goal of providing entrepreneurs with access to funding, resources, and tools to accelerate their businesses on an international stage. The show continues its efforts to cultivate a business environment that nurtures entrepreneurs who dream bigger, work harder, and scale faster.”
To date, Beban has played a pivotal role in facilitating over $6 million worth of investments secured in its first two seasons. The collaboration with Oman’s Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority as the Omani country partner further highlights the show’s commitment to promoting regional success stories.
Chairperson of Oman’s SME Development Authority, Halima bint Rashid AlZaria, emphasized the following, “The authority seeks to support SMEs and startups by providing an opportunity to participate in such initiatives, which contribute to promoting these institutions within and outside Oman.”
As the excitement continues, Beban Season 3 promises more investment opportunities with a new episode airing every Wednesday on Bahrain TV at 6 pm, and available anytime after on the video on-demand streaming platform, Shahid.
