Abu Dhabi’s global tech hub Hub71 has officially welcomed 21 innovative startups into its 15th cohort. This addition brings the total number of startups in the ecosystem to 243, further cementing the UAE capital’s role as a key player in the global technology landscape. Collectively, these startups have raised over $130 million in funding, positioning them for a transformative impact across sectors like FinTech, HealthTech, and ClimateTech.

The 21 startups selected for Hub71’s latest cohort were chosen from a pool of 1,228 applicants, with notable ventures like EpiBone and Partanna Oasis set to make their mark. EpiBone, a US-based HealthTech firm, has secured $43 million in funding, while Partanna Oasis, a material science startup co-founded by NBA legend Rick Fox, is working to make carbon-negative concrete and has raised $26 million.

The startups will participate in Hub71’s Access program and benefit from tailored support within specialized ecosystems such as Hub71+ Digital Assets and Hub71+ ClimateTech. By joining these networks, the startups will gain invaluable access to Abu Dhabi’s thriving tech community, including mentors, investors, and potential commercial partnerships.

Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, expressed enthusiasm, stating: “Cohort 15 is abundant with pioneering startups that are positioned to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s innovation ecosystem. By providing the startups with access to investment opportunities and market reach, Hub71 is supporting the founders’ journey in Abu Dhabi and accelerating their transformative impact globally.”

More than half of the new cohort consists of Seed and Series A startups, showing Hub71’s ability to scale ventures from their early stages. With startups spanning multiple sectors, the program is primed to bolster Abu Dhabi’s goals for sustainable economic growth. Key players in the climate space, such as France’s Plenesys, which specializes in CO2-free hydrogen production, are expected to drive forward the nation’s sustainability ambitions.

Through the Hub71+ programs, these startups are set to thrive, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for entrepreneurial growth and innovation.
