In line with national directives to advance innovation and harness emerging technologies across government entities, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) held a comprehensive workshop titled “AI Tools for Employee Productivity.” The session, conducted by the Innovation and Advanced Technologies Directorate, took place at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) and brought together staff from multiple iGA departments.

The initiative supports the vision of His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), to empower national talent and improve government performance through innovation.

Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al-Mutawa, iGA’s Deputy Chief Executive of Operations & Governance, emphasized the Authority’s ongoing commitment to capacity-building through targeted training in advanced technologies. He noted that the workshop aligns with the evolving demands of today’s digital work environment and praised the collaboration with BIBF and the efforts of the Innovation and Advanced Technologies Directorate team.

Ms. Latifa Al Abbasi, Director of Innovation and Advanced Technologies, underlined the workshop’s importance in equipping iGA employees with practical AI knowledge and skills. “This session is part of a wider national movement to embed advanced technologies in public sector operations,” she said. “By giving our team access to powerful AI tools, we’re enabling more efficient workflows and encouraging a culture of innovation.”

The interactive training covered a wide spectrum of topics, including:

  • Foundational AI concepts and their relevance to professional environments
  • The role of Prompt Engineering in optimizing AI tool use
  • Real-time applications of AI for daily work tasks
  • Opportunities and risks of AI integration in the workplace
  • Generative AI’s capabilities in content creation (text, imagery, video, and more)

Participants were also introduced to the latest research on AI’s impact on productivity and concluded the workshop with hands-on sessions designed to help them incorporate AI solutions into their daily operations.

By offering both theoretical insight and practical experience, the workshop marks another step forward in iGA’s mission to build a future-ready workforce that leverages emerging technologies to improve service delivery and operational excellence.
