The second cohort of startups at the Intelak Incubator has graduated following an extensive training period spanning nine weeks.

The four groups picked for the program consisted of entrepreneurs as well as university students. These included:

  • Team LiFi Tech: A startup dedicated to bringing high-speed LED WiFi connectivity to the UAE
  • Team SweepTEQ: A technology startup that developed a specialized scanning bot that detects runway debris and clears them.
  • Team Airborne: Developers of a mobile app that help passengers with visual, mobility and hearing impairments move seamlessly through airports.
  • Team Deliver2Mum: A company that provides visitors to Dubai with child-friendly car seats, pushchairs, and carriers.

Each team demonstrated their final work to the Emirates Group, GE, Etisalat Digital management teams, and the wider investor community.

All four companies received an office at the Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Center (DTEC) along with an initial funding of AED 50,000. In addition to that, they were also provided with mentors who helped them focus on the key development areas such as competition analysis, market sizing, and basic business principles such as budgeting, financing, and presentation skills.

Aimed at helping emerging businesses in the UAE, the Intelak Incubator came into existence last year. Ever since, it has been coordinating with the country’s booming entrepreneurial community to make travel better, safer, and more enjoyable for visitors.

Intelak Incubator encourages students, entrepreneurs, and investors from across the UAE to submit new business ideas that could help fulfill its vision. Those selected to be a part of the incubator receive capital funding and other assistance.
