Two of Bahrain’s leading institutions—National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and Batelco by Beyon—have joined forces to roll out integrated digital solutions for business customers, aiming to streamline operations and support the Kingdom’s shift toward a more connected, cashless economy.

The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) allows Batelco to offer its enterprise clients bundled service packages that combine the telco’s robust connectivity options with NBB GO, the Bank’s secure softPOS application. The result is a simplified, all-in-one experience for companies looking to manage both payment processing and communications infrastructure through a single provider.

At the heart of this collaboration is NBB GO, a contactless payment solution that turns any Android smartphone into a secure point-of-sale terminal. With just an app download, businesses can start accepting card and mobile wallet payments—eliminating the need for traditional POS devices and enabling faster, more flexible transactions.

Commenting on the partnership, Hisham AlKurdi, Group Chief Executive – Markets & Client Solutions at NBB, said: “This partnership represents a powerful alignment of two national institutions working together to deliver meaningful value to businesses across Bahrain. By integrating NBB GO into Batelco’s bundled offerings, we are enabling entrepreneurs and SMEs to benefit from a streamlined, secure, and efficient payment solution that complements their communication needs. It is a significant step towards creating a digitally inclusive ecosystem where innovation and ease-of-use are at the forefront of service delivery.”

Abdulla Danesh, General Manager of Enterprise at Batelco, added: “This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to rethinking how businesses across Bahrain access and utilise digital services. By joining hands with NBB, we are combining secure payment technologies with advanced connectivity solutions to deliver a comprehensive experience for our enterprise clients. It highlights how we are focused on enriching their capabilities to embrace innovation, operate more effectively, and contribute to the Kingdom’s broader developmental objectives.”

Beyond enhancing operational efficiency, the partnership is also about accessibility. For SMEs and entrepreneurs especially, the unified offering reduces the friction of adopting modern fintech solutions while ensuring scalability and reliability.

The NBB-Batelco partnership reflects a growing trend in Bahrain’s digital evolution—where collaboration between sectors is powering smarter, more inclusive tools for business.
