National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has once again proven its leadership in corporate responsibility, securing the title of ‘Middle East’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility’ at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024. This prestigious recognition marks NBB’s third major award this year, following accolades for ‘Bahrain’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility’ and ‘Bahrain’s Best Bank for ESG.’
NBB Chairperson Mrs. Hala Yateem expressed her pride in the achievement: “Winning this award is a testament to our transformative community impact. The Euromoney Awards for Excellence team praised NBB’s extensive support for various causes, highlighting that the bank has funded 81 organizations and allocated 5% of its profits to the local community since the 1980s.
Receiving the ‘Middle East’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility’ award underscores NBB’s enduring commitment to sustainability, social inclusion, community empowerment, youth development, and fostering innovation. The bank has actively supported numerous educational and youth empowerment initiatives, such as the Crown Prince International Scholarship Programme and the Isa Bin Salman Education Charitable Trust’s academic scholarships. NBB also partnered with Injaz Bahrain for the 13th Young Entrepreneurs Competition, aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation among high school students.
