If you haven’t heard already, the Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0 took place on Thursday 5th of April at the Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort, under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain and HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York. 12 Bahraini-based startups delivered a three-minute pitch to an audience full of experts from the worlds of entrepreneurship, technology, media, and investment.
So who won the Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0?
1st Place – ONEGCC and People’s Choice Award – An online platform that uses algorithms to matchmake skills of job seekers with the ideal employers. ONEGCC also won the People’s Choice Award.
2nd Place – GetBaqala – An ecommerce App that makes grocery shopping a piece of cake, by offering a wide range of household necessities and fresh food accessible and delivered to your doorstep. GetBaqala focuses in becoming the fastest on-demand grocery delivery platform in the kingdom that provides convenience, on-time and on-demand delivery to its client along with superlative services and hand-picked products.
3rd Place – Tammarran – Is an online platform that provides a variety of sports venues and activities available in a tap of a button. Users can book their favorite sports venue or activities without going through the headache of searching through multiple websites.
The Pitch@Palace Global will take place at St.James Palace in London, the UK in December 2018, where the winners are invited to attend.

HRH Prince Salman added, “Reflects the level of talent, creativity, and innovation that sits at the heart of Bahrain’s growing community of entrepreneurs.” Held in partnership with Tamkeen, the Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0 initiative focuses on helping, connecting and exposing innovative entrepreneurs and startups from across the Kingdom to CEOs, influencers, investors, mentors, and business partners.
“It is a huge privilege to bring Pitch@Palace to Bahrain,” said the Duke of York. “Pitch@Palace aims to help startup businesses grow. We do so by supporting businesses to become successful by making connections and asking the audience to follow up with at least one entrepreneur on their ASK,” he added.
