Reboot Coding Institute, Bahrain’s largest tech talent hub, has marked a significant milestone with a 50% surge in female enrollment, signaling a bold step toward gender equality in the tech industry. Traditionally a male-dominated field, the tech sector is witnessing a transformation as Reboot focuses on bridging the gap through inclusive education and innovative learning experiences.
The institute’s mission of democratizing access to tech education is evident in its diverse cohort of female students. Spanning ages 19 to 40, participants include career switchers, entrepreneurs, and university students from fields like cybersecurity and ICT. Many come from non-tech backgrounds, such as law, marketing, and education, reflecting Reboot’s dedication to empowering women from all walks of life.
Reboot’s innovative approach to education combines project-based learning, gamification, and peer-to-peer interaction to develop both technical and soft skills. Students work on over 55 projects across diverse fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud DevOps, and Full Stack Development. This comprehensive training equips them to become highly employable full-stack developers with skills in coding languages like JavaScript, Python, and Rust, as well as frameworks like React and Node.js.
Yanal Jallad, Managing Director at Reboot Coding Institute, expressed his pride in this achievement: “Our ambition from the start has been to achieve 50% women participation in our tech program, therefore we are tremendously proud to have achieved this in a short space of time. Becoming a full-stack developer in our two-year program empowers women with equal pay, flexibility in the workplace, and an abundance of opportunities in the tech industry.”
Reboot also fosters a strong sense of community through meetups, hackathons, and tech talks. These initiatives underscore that women in tech are not just participants—they are innovators, leaders, and changemakers.
Aligned with Bahrain’s Vision 2030, Reboot is more than an educational institution; it’s a movement transforming the nation’s digital landscape by empowering towards the path of technological progress.
