If you’re an entrepreneur just getting started with your startup with the hope of making it big in the global arena, you’re probably already familiar with Seedstars World. After all, it’s hailed as the largest seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets around the globe.
As you’re probably aware, Seedstars World recently conducted the Jordan chapter of the competition in capital city Amman. Held at The Tank-KHBP on July 19, the localized competition saw ten shortlisted startups pitching their products and business model in front of a panel of judges.
The prestigious title of “Best Startup in Jordan” was won by Robu, a seed-stage startup that serves as an all-encompassing financial decision-making platform for CEOs and top bosses. In addition to winning an array of rewards for its innovative solutions, Robu also has qualified to partake in the global Seedstars Summit, to be held next year in April in Switzerland. Seedstars Summit is a week-long training program that gives early-stage startups across the world the opportunity to meet and network with other regional winners of Seedstars. And of course, there are always numerous investors and mentors who are constantly in search of promising new endeavors by talented entrepreneurs.
On the final day of the event, shortlisted startups come under the spotlight as they are asked to pitch in front of an audience larger than 1,000. The best-performing startups in the global arena have the opportunity to win as much as $1 million in equity investment and other rewards.
Acknowledging the grand success of this year’s edition of the event regarding boosting the morale and capacity of Joradian startups, Omar Barakat, Regional Associate for MENA at Seedstars said: “Startups in Jordan are receiving tremendous support and very early stage funding from various ecosystem enablers, corporates, and funds which have given entrepreneurs in Jordan the knowledge and resources they need to accelerate their businesses, making them great additions to the Seedstars global family.”
