ServiceNow, a leading cloud computing firm based in Santa Clara, California, has promoted Mark Ackerman to oversee the company’s operations in the Middle East, South Africa, Turkey and Eastern Europe (MESAT & EE) as the new Regional Director.

Ackerman is not a new face in the company’s Middle East unit, having served in the region since 2015.

Joaquin Reixa, Senior AVP EMEA South at ServiceNow, acknowledged Ackerman’s contribution in the company’s growth in the ME by saying that in just three years since his deputation, Ackerman proved himself as an invaluable asset. In this relatively short span of time, he pulled together a team of talented and dedicated professionals, strengthened the company’s hold in the region, and developed a strong client base encompassing globally recognized brands across sectors.

“We have set some extremely ambitious objectives for the region over the next three to five years, and given Ackerman’s track record and understanding of the market and opportunity, I have full confidence that he is best suited to lead the team and spearhead our growth in the region,” Reixa said.

In his new role, Ackerman will be responsible for accelerating regional revenue contribution of EMEA to $1 billion by 2020. To make that possible, he will aim to expand the company’s footprint and market share in countries such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait by investing more in alliances and existing channel partners, as well as through additional direct recruitments.
