Leading seed-stage venture capital firm Shorooq Partners has announced a special initiative to support up-and-coming Lebanese talent and startups. Dubbed “شروق لبنان”; the new initiative is in line with the regional efforts to help Lebanon out of its current economic hardship by boosting entrepreneurship and innovation, among other means.
The new program will serve as a catalyst that helps connect promising startups with the sharpest minds Lebanon has to offer. That way, startups can benefit from a pool of talent at their disposal and young professionals will also get the opportunity to showcase and utilize their potential in a conducive work environment. It’s a win-win situation for all.
The program offers another perk for Lebanese startups. It promises to provide them with all necessary support so they can expand their presence across the GCC — especially in key markets such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Speaking on the new initiative, Wendy Sfeir, a member of the Shorooq team noted, “Lebanon has always been a hub of innovation and top talent in the region, it is its most valuable asset that we must support and elevate at all cost and we are humbled to do our small part in providing support to Lebanon and its people.”
Shorooq Partners is also looking for talented individuals who aspire to become a part of dynamic and thriving startup environment, as well as startups looking to relocate to Bahrain, Saudi, or the UAE.
