Less than a year ago, Souq made a big stride forward by launching an Amazon Global Store in the UAE. Buoyed by the success of that initiative, the company has now expanded its presence in the region by launching a similar store in Saudi Arabia.
Souq officially entered the Saudi market last week, enabling consumers in the country to purchase more than one million global products straight from Amazon in the United States. Included categories range from apparel and fashion accessories to kitchen and home goods, and more. Saudi shoppers can comfortably browse the products on Souq’s dedicated Amazon Global Store page. Additionally, the same products will also be listed across the main website among other regular products.
Souq will oversee all essential procedures including customs clearance and doorstep delivery. Buyers can pay for the products using cash-on-delivery or their local credit card (payment options are the same as that for any regular purchase). When it comes to the delivery time for products imported from the U.S., Souq customers can choose from two available options:
- A priority delivery that takes 2 – 5 business days (costs extra)
- The standard delivery option that takes 6 – 10 business days
“We are excited about making over one million popular products from Amazon available on SOUQ.com to customers. This brings global selection closer to our customers in the region, and we will continue to grow this further. We share the same vision as Amazon and focus on providing our customers with best-in-class selection, great prices, and convenient shopping experience,” said Saleem Hammad, Souq’s General Manager for Saudi.
The company also promised a robust return policy with a full refund within 30 days of the purchase.
