The biggest experimental technology festival in the Gulf is making a grand comeback for the seventh year in a row. Get all psyched up, because Step Conference 2019 will kick off with a bang in just over a week — on Feb 13, 2019, to be more specific. The venue is Dubai Internet City, a Dubai government-back info-tech park that prides itself as a breeding ground “where the ideas of tomorrow are born.”

As usual, the two-day event will bring along a wide range of activities including, but not limited to, interactive workshops, networking sessions, and of course, keynote speeches by some of the world’s biggest tech leaders and experts.

The conference is divided into four units this year:

  • STEP Start
  • Step Digital
  • Step X
  • Step Money

Expected participants include representatives from pretty much all of walks of life within the tech ecosystem including entrepreneurs, technologists, academics and inventors, investors, and creatives, to name a few.

“STEP Conference has hosted over 1,000 startups since its inception. Many of those startups went on to build scale, outstanding products, and raise large sums of investment. We’ve witnessed and played a big role in the creation of an entire ecosystem in a very turbulent region. This ecosystem has created hope, ambition, and jobs across the entire Middle East,” said Ray Dargham, CEO of STEP Group, while elaborating the impact of STEP in the region.

More than 250 startups from all across the region are expected to flock to Dubai to partake in the forthcoming edition of STEP Conference. Their primary objective will be to demonstrate their grassroots business ideas to some of the world’s biggest and most influential investors and tech leaders.

As always, one of the underlying objectives powering the mega event will be to provide emerging MENA startups with a global platform to announce their arrival and prepare them to participate in STEP’s flagship pitch competition.

Ah..and well, do we need to mention the awesome food, live music, and other cultural activities that give STEP the reputation of being one heck of a fun event? Tickets are already on sale — you might want to hurry up before they’re sold out.
