Tamkeen
, the labor fund in Bahrain and one of the main pillars supporting the Kingdom’s entrepreneurial spirit, has announced a further extension of its support to COVID-affect businesses.

Tamkeen confirmed earlier this week that small and micro enterprises operating in the conference, exhibition, and gym businesses will receive financial aid for an additional six months under its Business Continuity Support program.

The support will also cover guides registered with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and operating in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

The decision by Tamkeen comes after a directive was issued by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamal Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister during the Executive Meeting on Feb 25.

Speaking on this latest extension of the Continuity Support program, Tamkeen CEO Dr. Ebrahim Mohammad Janahi said that national efforts were ongoing in the fight against COVID even as the government was simultaneously focusing on the continuation of the overall development processes.

He also explained that Bahrain is keen as ever to study the data relevant to the challenges and opportunities facing the market today. The main objective behind this is to provide inventive solutions to all businesses that are still halting their operations in compliance with the decisions taken by the national medical team.
