The move was taken in collaboration with Tamkeen and Microsoft as per the directives of His Highness Sh. Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The inauguration of the first batch took place on Sept 5, 2020, with 38 confirmed participants who were handpicked from a total of 126 applicants. The participants include school and university students, as well as job seekers and professionals.

The participants were selected by a committee comprising representatives of Bahrain Polytechnic, Tamkeen, and Microsoft.
