His Excellency Sh. Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Labor Fund ‘Tamkeen’, affirmed the continuation of endeavors to strengthen national efforts to face the repercussions of the global spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) at the local level in accordance with the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect and preserve him.
His Excellency announced the expansion of the circle of beneficiaries of the financial and economic package programs from the Tamkeen Labor Fund, to include support for the categories of drivers, taxi drivers, bus drivers, driving instructors, and kindergarten workers.
This is in the context of implementing the order of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the distinguished Prime Minister, may God protect him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, may God protect him.
The Council of Ministers had recently announced the allocation of the first two support funds to support 950 taxi drivers, common transportation market, and buses in an amount not to exceed 300 dinars per month for a period of 3 months. In addition to the second support fund to support 829 driving trainers in an amount not exceeding 300 dinars per month for a period of 3 months, provided that they don’t have a commercial record or a pension.
While the Council of Ministers decided to pay the full salaries to a total of 422 workers in kindergarten and 102 workers in nurseries who are not insured in the Social Insurance Authority through the Labor Fund (Tamkeen) for a period of 3 months.
His Excellency Sh. Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa said that the registration window for these groups has been opened as of Tuesday evening, as two funds have been allocated to support these groups affected by the current situation of the spread of the COVID-19, which comes in line with the ongoing national efforts to support the largest possible segment of Affected.

His Excellency explained that the concerned groups are scheduled to receive text messages from ‘Tamkeen’, according to the list of beneficiaries accredited to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, including a link to the support form, where the stakeholders will have to confirm the available personal data, as well as the bank account data and then log in to enable Complete the verification process, within two weeks of receiving the text message, so that the support amount can be transferred directly.
