Bahrain labour development fund Tamkeen has announced that it is currently in the process of overhauling two of its flagship programs including the Enterprise Development Program, and Training and Wage Support.

The ongoing revamp was confirmed by none other than the labour fund’s Chief Executive, Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi.

According to Dr. Janahi, the changes being implemented will greatly enhance the impact and sustainability of both these programs while making them adequately flexible to suit changing market dynamics.

Qusay Al Arayedh, COO of Tamkeen’s customer support and operations division, added that once the revamp of the Training and Wage Support program is complete, it will incorporate a more inclusive environment for a broader spectrum of individuals to boost their employment opportunities.

The new categories to be added are:

  • Freshers under the age of 30 with no prior experience.
  • Non-bachelor degree holders aged between 18 and 24 years with two years of work experience.
  • Employees under 30 and with two years of work experience.
  • Employees aged under 35 and with two to five years of work experience.

Ali Hasan, Tamkeen’s operational performance senior manager, lauded the move by saying that it will be of great help to young professionals seeking job opportunities, as well as for enterprises on the lookout for eligible and skilled workers to expand their workforce.
