The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) in Bahrain has significantly increased its inspection visits to ensure the proper use of its support programs, which are designed to aid employment and career development. These inspections have become six times more frequent than before, reflecting a strong commitment to accountability and transparency. Tamkeen has also established a mechanism with the Ministry of Labour to monitor cases of arbitrary dismissal. In cases where violations are identified, such as ghost employment, fraud, or document forgery, appropriate actions will be taken. These actions may include reclaiming funds or preventing employers from accessing future support.

In the first half of the year, Tamkeen conducted 2,341 inspection visits, uncovering various infractions, including 13 significant cases involving serious violations. All identified issues have been addressed, with some cases being referred to relevant authorities for further investigation.

Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, emphasized the importance of these efforts. “We will continue to strengthen efforts in monitoring and inspection, ensuring optimal guidance of support to its rightful beneficiaries. The success of these efforts undoubtedly relies on close collaboration with our government partners based on shared responsibility and working within the Team Bahrain framework.”

Tamkeen urges the public and beneficiaries to report any illegal activities or violations confidentially through their dedicated hotline at 17383383 or via email at report@tamkeen.bh. This call to action underscores Tamkeen’s dedication to maintaining a fair and equitable system that benefits all legitimate participants.
