UAE-based online payment gateway Telr rolled out a new e-commerce service on Sunday. Dubbed TelrShops, the new platform is designed to help local and regional merchants to grow their online presence.

TelrShops is open to merchants across industries and niches where they will have unrestricted access to a wide range of tools to set up their own virtual shops. Telr claims to have optimized the process to be simple, user-friendly, and time-efficient to ensure that new users can get used to it without any difficulties whatsoever.

In fact, the company says that merchants can set up their unique virtual shops in as little as five minutes.

Because TelrShops will be fully integrated with the company’s native Telr Payment Gateway solutions, merchants will be able to access all types of online payments. To that effect, this new venture is in tune with the UAE’s broader objective of becoming mainly a cashless economy by 2021.

Commenting on the occasion, Telr CEO Khalil Alami, noted: “For more than six years, Telr has specialized in award-winning payment gateway solutions for SME’s, and we are pleased to have channeled our expertise into a platform that addresses the unique challenges we’ve seen merchants face over the years.”

He added, “In line with the key pillars of the UAE Vision 2021, we at Telr, are proud to be helping merchants of all sizes, and across different industries, to seamlessly transition towards a cashless payments society.”
