The Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) is back in 2021 and is now accepting applications – aiming to grow beyond the 175,000 contestants from 200+ countries. The program provides an opportunity to pitch on a global stage for a share of US $1 million in cash prizes plus additional investment opportunities and US $750,000 in in-kind support.
The competition is open to startups from all stages including idea stage, early stage, growth stage and beyond.
GEN Bahrain, the local chapter of GEN Global, will be running the competition locally in Bahrain. The chapter operates as a platform that collaborates to utilize the market’s existing assets, offering support to address key gaps, areas of growth and improvement for the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
What does it offer?
Participants will undergo a virtual training and mentorship program to help them hone their skills and increase their chances of winning their national competitions and advance to the Global finals.
Furthermore, the EWC platform offers all contestants who complete the application, access to more than $25,000 in perks from partners such as Google Cloud, Hubsport, Stripe and more.
When is it happening?
The National final competitions are held through June 2021. In November 2021, 100 startups from around the world will be flown to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to participate in the EWC Accelerates program for an intensive startup bootcamp and to compete in the EWC Global finals.
