Only 51 days to go until one of MENA’s most exciting game development challenges goes live in Bahrain. Of course, it’s the Bahrain Game Jam 2018 we are talking about — a dynamic, fun, but extremely competitive event that sees game developers racing against time (and each other) to come up with a quality game within 48 hours.

There are no eligibility criteria as such to join the event and compete against some of the sharpest minds in the game-development community. Anyone above 16 years can register and walk into the competition. The Bahrain Internet Society hosts the Bahrain Game Jam with support from Bahrain Polytechnic and local game development communities.

“But I don’t know how to code, so what’s in it for me?”, Some of you are probably wondering. Well, that’s not a problem because game development is not just about coding and programming languages. It has many other aspects that you can easily contribute to without any coding skills. For example, if you are a writer, animator, 3D modeler, artist, designer, musician, puzzle creator, or just someone who has an amazing idea for a new game, there is a place for you at Bahrain Gaming Jam competition.

And if you have zero experience in game development but think that you have what it takes to become one, Bahrain Game Jam promises to help you find the right free game development workshops.

Meanwhile, if you are preparing to participate in the event, you will also be provided with mentors and coaches to help with the cause. Now let’s refresh our memory regarding the dates. The Bahrain Game Jam 2018 will kick off on Nov 29 at Polytechnic Bahrain and will continue through December 1.
