GITEX is in the final leg of their preparation for two of the region’s most high-profile technology events: GITEX Technology Week, and GITEX Future Stars. Scheduled on Oct 14 to 18, GITEX Technology Week 2018 will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center. As always, the event will focus on a wide variety of futuristic, tech-driven products such as emergency services robots, use of virtual reality in the workplace, cities run and managed by artificial intelligence, and so on. GITEX is calling on startups and tech enthusiasts from all over the world to be a part of the event and “Experience Future Urbanism.”
The other event, GITEX Future Stars 2018, will be held side by side with GITEX Technology Week. After it kicks off on Oct 14, the event will aim to facilitate the perfect networking platform for investors and startups from all over the world. This year, more than 850 international startups are expected to share this platform with over 1,500 investors and corporate buyers.
“Advances in digital, communication and even biological technologies aren’t just transforming the way we interact with each other, they are fundamentally shaping how we experience the city around us,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice-President Events Management at the Dubai World Trade Centre. “This year, under the theme of ‘Experience Future Urbanism,’ GITEX Technology Week will showcase how innovations and solutions can enrich the level of human, economic and cultural development of our world, both individually and collectively.”
Among all emerging technologies, artificial intelligence is expected to be at the center stage during both these events. To put that into perspective, GITEX Technology Week alone will have more than 100 companies from 25 countries showcasing their AI-driven products at the event.
