Zain Bahrain, a leading telecom services provider, has stepped into the world of fintech with the launch of its new company and app. This initiative aims to disrupt traditional financial services by leveraging cutting-edge technologies, supporting innovation, and advancing Bahrain’s developmental objectives.

During a prestigious ceremony held at the Ritz-Carlton on February 6th, Zain Bahrain introduced the Bede App, marking a significant stride in Zain FinTech’s journey across the nation and Bahrain’s digital domain. Zain FinTech, the financial services arm of Zain Group, stands as a pivotal player in Zain’s ‘4Sight’ strategy, overseeing fintech services across its operations in the Middle East and Africa region.

Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, commended the private sector’s role in propelling development through initiatives that support promising opportunities. Bahrain remains steadfast in supporting priority sectors, particularly those focused on technological and digital advancements, in alignment with the nation’s Economic Recovery Plan.

The launch ceremony, graced by Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Mohammed bin Thamir Al Kaabi and prominent industry figures, highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to advancing economic growth and strengthening public-private partnerships. Zain Bahrain Chairman, Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, emphasized the group’s dedication to innovation and meeting customer needs in fintech and digital transformation.

“The launch represents a major step in Zain’s ‘4Sight’ strategy to expand its regional leadership in fintech,” stated Zain Group Vice Chairman and CEO, Bader Al Khurafi. “It will boost financial inclusion and support the socioeconomic vision of the countries being served.”

AbdulNasser Al Rayes, CEO of Zain Bahrain’s fintech subsidiary, noted, “Bede app is part of Zain Bahrain’s digital transformation journey and upholds the Kingdom’s 2030 Economic Vision and diversification plans by introducing new fintech services and solutions.”
